What’s new and how to download it

We’re back with the weekly Windows 11 build on the Dev channel. You know, if we do not remind you, we will meet every week with the Dev channel of the Windows Insider program. With the new version of Windows 11, fixes that include new features and are highlighted by locals.

What’s new in version 22494

Turn the microphone on or off from the taskbar during a group call

If you forget to turn your microphone on or off, say goodbye to embarrassing or awkward times. From today, with Microsoft teams, we will get the microphone icon, which will be automatically added to the taskbar when we are actively calling. You can see the audio status of the call, which apps are accessing our microphone, can be muted and turned on quickly at any time.

When we join the meeting, we see that the following icon appears immediately in the taskbar. There will be an icon throughout the call, so it will always be accessible regardless of the number of windows open.

Today, this experience begins to be implemented with an array of insiders in Microsoft teams for work or school, and will gradually expand. This new icon is not accessible to all of us, please be patient, it will also take the built-in group chat in the future. Other applications may add this capability to their applications. The ability to deactivate or reactivate the call only applies to the current call.

Changes and improvements in the built 22494

  • ALT + TAB tests the view of the application pools and some of the workspace through the Windows Insiders, just as you would open applications in the taskbar and view them there. This is not yet available to all insiders as everyone wants to check the reviews before giving.
  • If you are looking for file types or link types in Settings> Applications> Default Applications, a drop-down menu will appear with the current query without pressing Enter first.
  • If necessary, with this URI: ms-settings: Installed-apps, you can now launch the Installed Apps Settings page in Settings> Apps> Installed Apps.
  • Sequence names have been adjusted to make them clearer by the options in Settings> Apps> Installed Apps, and a new option to sort from small to large has been added.
