The next generation upgrade to digital versions is free

Buyers of digital standard versions of Battlefield 2042 have the option to upgrade for free to the next generation version of the shooter.

Buyers of the Digital Cross-Zen Bundle Standard Edition of Battlefield 2042 for the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 Xbox Series X | Electronic Arts has announced that it has the option to upgrade to the S or PlayStation 5 version for free.

Prior to that, Wars fans had to buy a gold version that cost almost 100 euros to gain access to upgrade options or versions for dual console generations.

Buyers are expected to drop the physics standard version, as the publisher has only announced a feature called Dual Endeavor for the digital standard version of the shooter.

This weekend, the Xbox Series X | A large number of players on the S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC can play as part of the Portfield open beta. Pre-orders and EA Play or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can get started today.
