Last week “Perseverance” touched the cheers of NASA staff on Mars. Now there are the first videos of the rover landing and the first sounds from the surface of the planet.

The microphones on the rover did not transmit any useful data from the landing – but then sent the first sound recordings obtained from the surface of Mars. You can hear something on them that sounds like air gas. New photos were also released.
The small “ingenuity” helicopter on the rover had previously sent its first level report to the control center in Pasadena, California – and according to NASA experts, it “seems to be working properly”. “Ingenuity” (in German: ingenuity) is still attached to the base of “perseverance”. But in 30 to 60 days the helicopter will have to explore Mars from a bird’s eye view. This will be the first flight of a spacecraft on another planet.
The rover “diligently”, the size of a small car weighing about 1,000 kilograms, landed on Thursday – after 203 days of flight and 472 million kilometers – with dangerous maneuvering on the dry lake of “Jessero Greater”. “Perseverance” means exploring this lake, which is about 45 kilometers in diameter, over the next two years.
The $ 2.5 billion (approximately 2 2.2 billion) rover took eight years to grow and build. He must search for traces of previous microbial life on Mars and study the planet’s climate and geography.
