We thank Dr. Tommy Wong Chai Wai and Mr. Benny Tan for their feedback on the Trace Together token distribution (setting up token collection booths at MRT stations and malls; non-availability of tokens prevents targeted rate, both December 10).
Since the public distribution of Trace Together tokens began, they have been in high demand. To meet this need more than expected, we have adjusted our distribution model so that collection is now stumbled upon and restricted to residents of the block. When we adjust production, we need to supply as needed.
We will expand the token collection to more volumes in the coming weeks.
Currently, more than 60 percent of Singaporean residents are on the Trace Together program, which includes those who have downloaded and registered the app.
We keep in mind that there has been steady growth in adoption driven by token collection and utility login.
We would like to encourage those who have a smartphone to download the app so that they can go to the program immediately without waiting for a token.
As we look forward to further easing the Covit-19 operations, more app downloads will enable faster adoption.
We are constantly tuning in to make the app as powerful as possible. Current battery consumption in running the app is somewhat high, especially on phones that already have Bluetooth enabled. Users are advised to update their apps to benefit from the latest improvements.
Those in need of assistance with the application can access our Smart Nation Ambassadors at Trace Together booths at shopping malls across Singapore. They will help you download and set up the app publicly and guide them on how to use the app to perform secure entry checks.
Residents who want a token should visit the Token Gower website or see updates on social notice boards about starting token collections in their respective modules.
We would like the public to thank us for our communication tracking efforts and to assure everyone that Trace Together-only secure entry will be enabled only if everyone who wants a token has the opportunity to collect one.
