Corsair MP600 Pro LPX 2 TB Review: Best SSD for Sony PS5

MP600 Pro LPX SSDs should be considered as an alternative MP600 Pro XT From that they take most of the technical properties. We find M.2 2280 modules operating on a PCIe 4 interface and completely identical components.

This LPX version differs from the XT in the heat sink used. The black metallic radiator has been replaced with a very fine piece here, but still has a nice finish. The small 11mm thickness of these SSDs allows you to place them on Sony’s latest console, the PS5. Corsair developed the MP600 Pro LPX which solves a major problem for other MP600 SSD representatives of the brand, especially for this application.

Under the heatsink, we see the pair Phison PS5018-E18 and Micron 3D NAND TLC 176 layers. The controller is a high-end chip with three Cortex-R5 cores engraved at 12 nm (TSMC). This 2 TB version has 2 GB of cache memory. For use on the PS5, the memory chips are in a better range, as is the case with the Seagate Firekuda 530, another compact modification of SSDs. .

The Corsair MP600 Pro LPX 2TB has five years or 1400TB of written data, whichever comes first is guaranteed. Writing tolerance is enormous and equates to 767 GB of data per day for five years. Therefore, we can say that this tolerance will never be tested by the user, except for use on the server – this SSD is not intended area. 500 GB, 1 TB and 4 TB versions are also offered by Corsair, with more or less tolerance depending on capacity.
