Alti PCs: desktop computers and notebooks with high-end graphics cards

On May 27, 2021, Aldi Chat and Aldi Nord will add some desktop PCs and notebooks to their range, which are equipped with high-end graphics cards or chips. Built-in GeForce RTX 3000 GPUs are rare due to a shortage of global chips and the current crypto mining boom, which is why quick sales can be expected.

Aldi sells two desktop PCs, the GeForce RTX 3080 or the GeForce RTX 3070 and the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 at the end of the month. As usual, all devices come from the manufacturer’s median.

High-end-notebook mid-Raison-CPU

The Eraser Beast X25 notebook is rare in two senses because it features one of AMD’s fastest but rarely available mobile processors: eight-core Raison 9 5900hx (simultaneously 16-threads with SMT) CPU clock frequencies of 4, 6 GHz.

The GeForce RTX 3080 version comes with 16GB of GDTR6 memory. Dual Channel 64GB DDR 4-3200 RAM with 2GB PCI Express SST with pre-installed Windows 10 Home. The Matte IPS display measures 17.3 inches, but only shows 1920 × 1080 pixels – but with 240 Hz.

High resolution monitors can be connected via HDMI 2.1 or via USB-C port’s display port function (3.2 Gen 2, 10 Gbit / s). Of the other four Type A connections, two each carry 10 and 5 GBit / s (3.2 Gen 1, formerly known as USB 3.0). Weighing in at 2.3kg, the Eraser Beast X25 is much lighter for this performance class gaming notebook. The hardware sits in an aluminum-magnesium alloy housing; The battery has a capacity of 91.2 Wh.

Intel Tiger Lake-S

Installed Intel’s new Tiger Lake S processors on Median desktop PCs. Both have eight cores – the best model Core i9-11900k on the Eraser Hunter X20 and the lowest clock Core i7-11700 on the Eraser Engineer X10. The former receives strong cooling in the form of an all-in-one water cooling iceberg 240 of alcohol. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX3080 for the X20 and GeForce RTX3070 for the X10 take 3D computations.

Acer and Median promote several branded products for the Eraser Hunter X20, including the MSI mainboard MPG Z490 gaming edge WiFi and the Seasonix 750-watt Focus GX-750 power supply. The Z490 board comes from a previous generation, but can handle PCI Express 4.0 according to MSI. Both PCs have 32GB DTR 4-3200 RAM and 1TB PCIE SST including Windows 10 Home. The Eraser Hunter X20 has 4 TB hard drives.

Both the Eraser Beast X25 notebook and the Eraser Hunter X20 desktop PC are priced at 00 2800, while the Eraser Engineer X10 is available for 1500. Both Aldi Chat and Aldi Nord will be selling PCs exclusively through their online stores from May 27, 2021.
