The update with version number 2.21.241 is now available for download from the iTunes App Store for WhatsApp Messenger for iPhone. This update fixes bugs found in previous versions of WhatsApp Messenger and new features are not expected. The last update introduced additional options that give you more control over your messages and remove them from your chats. You now have the option to enable default self-destructing messages for all new chats. Once switched on, you can specify that all private chats started by you or someone else or all messages in the group chats you create will disappear again after a predetermined period of time. This is a custom function, so existing chats will not be changed or deleted. WhatsApp adds two new expiration messages that automatically delete: In addition to the existing 7 days, it will now be removed from chats within 24 hours or 90 days. All new single chats can enable self-deleting messages by default. Additionally, you can check your voice messages before sending them by tapping the stop icon while recording. Update requires iOS 10.0 or newer iPhone, can be downloaded immediately. More information can be found below or in the iTunes App Store.

This way, you can turn self-destructing messages on or off
You can send messages on WhatsApp and they will go away automatically. All you have to do is run self-destruct messages. Once the system is up and running, new messages will disappear from the chat after 7 days. The last selected selection will further affect all news. Previously received or sent messages will not be affected. In each other’s chat, each user can turn on or off self-destructing messages. Only group administrators can do this in group chat.
- If a user does not open WhatsApp for 7 days, the message will disappear automatically. However, you can preview the message in the announcements until he opens WhatsApp.
- When you reply to a message, a previously sent message will be quoted. If you respond to a self-delete message, the quoted text will still be in the chat after 7 days.
- If self-destructive messages are sent to an off chat, the message will not disappear.
- If a user takes a backup before the message disappears, it will be saved there. However, it will disappear once he retrieves the backup.
This is how you can turn on self-destructing messages
In one-on-one chat, both participants can enable self-deleting messages. Once the system is up and running, new messages will disappear from the chat after 7 days.
- Open WhatsApp Chat -> Tap Contact Name -> Tap Expired Messages -> When prompted, tap Continue -> Select.
This way, self-deleting messages can be turned off
Both participants can turn off self-deletion messages at any time. Once the system is idle, new messages will not disappear from the chat.
- Open WhatsApp Chat -> Tap Contact Name -> Tap Expired Messages -> When prompted, tap Continue -> Select.
The media in self-destructive news
The media you receive on WhatsApp will be automatically saved to your photos by default. If you enable self-clear messages, the media sent to the chat will disappear. However, if automatic downloads are enabled, they will still be on your mobile. You can disable automatic download on WhatsApp at any time. To do this, open Settings> Storage and Data.
