The main advantage of Google Drive is that it can be accessed on any media. Whether on a smartphone, tablet or desktop. However, Mountain View continues to strive to improve the user experience of its products. It proves it to us again through the new Google Drive app for Windows and MacOS.
Google describes “The driver for desktop is an application for Windows and MacOS that allows you to quickly access content from your desktop, making it easy to access files and folders in a familiar place. The driver for PC automatically syncs local files to the cloud in the background, which reduces the time it takes to sync files. ”
Two applications in one
Until now, there have been two unique applications, backup and sync on the one hand, a consumer version, and an additional version for businesses called Drive File Stream. Henceforth, an application connects the general public and the professional. Google has announced that it will discontinue the app on October 1st if you are still using backup and sync. It is therefore strongly recommended to download the new application which includes both the services.
In November 2020, Google announced the end of free and unlimited storage on Google Photos. But in addition, the company will remove content from Google Drive users, which will be inactive for two years.
Drive for download desktop for Windows and Mac is now available.
