Dice Legacy Preview – Nintendo Switch – ntower

Welcome to the ring world, in which things are a little different than regular building games. Because here you do not have to collect any gold coins laboriously, but depends only on the power of the dice. How exactly does it work? We were able to get the first look of the PC version of the upcoming construction game Dice Legacy, which will also be released for the Nintendo Switch, and give you the first look of the game below.

Dice, Set, Go!

At first glance, the dice legacy appears to be a common building game that requires a strategic sense on your part as well. You need wood and stone to build new buildings, and your residents want food all day long. Over time, buildings become more complex, and you have to take care of the military, economy, religion and education, for which you need more, higher quality resources that need to be better prepared. So far so good, but what’s so special about it? Each action you take in the game requires the right dice and you will only get a certain number of numbers.

In front of each building you will find a space that fits a cube. But notice, because not every cube fits every building. Even if you need a working cube for jobs like wood or stone mining, wheat fields need a completely different cube so that something can grow there. The dice represent your residents and each has six different abilities according to the dice pages. To progress, you must combine dice with resources and rely on your luck: because you can rarely roll what you need.

Cubes also have a layered life, you should always keep an eye on and in the changing seasons, which will only have summer and winter, additional obstacles will come to you. The food is stale, the wood is used quickly and the residents – or cubes in this case – need special care. So you should always pay attention to the dice, because residents will not always live long winters without damage. All of this takes up a lot of time and resources for you, especially if you want to keep your opponents on the sidelines and it can quickly cause a bit of stress. Otherwise building games like this are quiet to bring with them, because as you progress further in the game it will become more stressful and you will have to cheat the dice. Because you can not hold more than 12 dice, and the tricky part of the game begins. This is because, although you can upgrade and improve the dice, you can easily lose them. Finding balance is very important here because your residents want to continue to deliver the most important things.

Dice can be upgraded in different ways and they will be needed sooner or later.

In addition, Dice Legacy offers a lot of other content, which usually only pays later in the game. Through research you can open buildings or improvements to your citizens and the satisfaction of your population should be guaranteed. Because, just like in real life, satisfied citizens want to set fire to homes as positive-minded and dissatisfied people. With unopened heads, different level difficulties and different scenarios, Dice Legacy is not really a short-lived game in the ring world.

The controls on the system are very simple, and each process will have an extra hotspot that you normally use. In addition, your world is woven like the inside of a ring, which is why you have to fight your way from bottom to top. So you can conveniently scroll with the mouse to move around the map. It remains to be seen how the controls on the Nintendo Switch will eventually be implemented. The music fits the course of the game and gives a good atmosphere to the whole game. The graphics are also solid, especially when you turn them all the way and play in better settings. In the end, the game keeps you going for a long time because, like any good building game, it takes a lot of effort to understand the dynamics before you can crash it. But then you have to figure out for yourself what works best, and the game’s introductory sentence is very relevant here: “Dice Legacy is set in a world of extraordinary sports, severe winters, many dangers and a lot of secrets. Experiment. Be diligent. Be brave. “
