    Star Citizen, a large-scale game project now massively funded with nearly $ 400 million, is yet to be completed. Now the development team is set to expand further. A new studio is to be built in Manchester that will have more than 1,000 employees over the next five years.

    Manchester Studio for 1,000 employees

    This is a new studio Manchester Products Yard In the center of the Enterprise City district, its doors will open in May 2022, initially creating 700 jobs in 2023. The number of employees is expected to rise to 1,000 within the next five years, by 2026. However, not all vacancies will be filled as around 400 employees at Wilmslow, Cheshire, currently in the UK studio, are expected to move into the new quarter, thus expecting more than 600 new employees. New staff are expected to be assigned to the site from the beginning of 2022.

    Cloud Imperium Games currently employs more than 700 people worldwide, and plans to double the number of new employees. The previous headquarters were in Los Angeles, with additional studios in Austin, Frankfurt and Montreal.

    No game date yet

    It remains to be seen whether the ambitious science fiction simulation MMO Mix Star Citizen and the disconnected Single-Player Off-Shoot Squadron 42 will be completed soon with additional staff.

    The work of Star Citizen has been going on for over 10 years. Originally scheduled for release in 2014. After several postponements, there are no official date predictions for Star Citizen or Squadron 42 today. Star Citizen is currently in alpha version 3.14, running on Backer.
