The last CMJ (Municipal Youth Council) members were elected during the March 2019 referendum. The renewal of this participatory democratic system will take place during a referendum scheduled for next month. Calls for applications continue among young Blacknoys aged 11 to 16 and will be received until Wednesday, January 19 (the form can be downloaded from the city’s website). Candidates will be able to campaign before Thursday, January 20, to Friday, February 11. These will take place from Monday, February 14th to Wednesday, February 16th at Guilmet and Mormos Colleges. On Wednesday, February 16, voting will take place at Ferrado College and from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm in Maison to Square (opposite Town Hall). This organization aims to enhance dialogue between generations and is an excellent tool for learning about democratic debate. These selected youth will be responsible for designing plans for the city and implementing them. They will thus follow in the footsteps of their predecessors who have sat in various promotions since September 2002.
