Apple no longer wants to update many iPhones with iOS 16

The first generation iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE will no longer have iOS 16. They are still running with iOS 15, but updates should be completed by 2022 9to5Mac Report and iPhonesoft From France.

Apple has significant issues with models that are not very powerful right now, so modern operating systems no longer work satisfactorily.

Announcements for iOS 16 do not stop there. There is also a turning point for the iPadOS 16. From 2015 the iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, 5th generation iPad and iPad Pro will no longer receive updates. Here, too, is the reason: too old, so too slow. If you want to put it another way: Minimal equipment nothing works without the A10.

However, we will only find out how Apple works in WWDC 2022 as iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 will be announced. It is imaginary that older devices will receive security patches for a while.

9to5Mac points out that iPhonesoft is right up there with information about devices that are outdated with iOS 13 and iOS 14. They were only wrong on iOS 15: then it was said that the iPhone 6s or SE would not get the update. However, Apple decided against it.

Of course, these are still long support times. We do not know of any other manufacturer that has been releasing updates for their devices for such a long time.

Are you still using devices older than iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 next year? How do you feel about them?
