Epic Games: Unreal Engine 4 is owned by Nvidia’s AI Upscale DLSS 2.0

Epic Game offers a new plugin for Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) version 2.0 for game developers who rely on unlicensed Unreal Engine 4. Studios and indie developers can easily integrate advanced technology into their games without the need for direct contact with Nvidia.

DLSS 2.0 relies on a neural network trained by Nvidia, which learns from comparative images to display low-resolution content at the best quality. For example, you can get 4K gameplay from a full HD image with 1920 × 1080 pixels. A temporary filter that counts frames together also enhances image quality.

A general Activation on Unreal Engine 4 It has been running since the update to DLSS 2.0, as Nvidia no longer trains a neural network for a game, but is generally compatible with a wide variety of image contents. Plugin for Unreal Engine 4 is a logical effect.

DLSS image quality does not always approach its own resolution, but it is a welcome way to increase frame rate, sometimes significantly, without sacrificing too much image quality. Tensor processing cores in the RTX 2000 and RTX 3000 series on Nvidia’s GeForce graphics cards run the neural network.

Epic Games offers the DLSS 2.0 plugin for graphics APIs such as DirectX 11, DirectX 12 and Vulcan. It also includes “Ultra Performance Mode”, which releases 8K images with an internal render resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels.

An immediate flood of DLSS titles is not expected: the expansion of the epic games is based on the Unreal Engine in version 4.26 Released in December 2020 Not all UE4 games currently in development are used yet.
