The Android 13 beta is no longer just for developers. Google introduces the general beta phase of the next version of its operating system and allows users to download and install it as long as they have a Pixel smartphone.

Note that the beta version is unstable and by default incomplete. It is therefore not recommended to install this on your flagship smartphone.
With Android 13, Google focuses on security and privacy. For example, Beta 1 adds new permissions for accessing media files and distinguishing audio, photo and video files.

User access may or may not be granted.
Google is improving Android’s keystore and keymint modules responsible for managing encryption keys, and giving developers a new API to play audio content. Beta 1 of Android 13 takes on the functionality found in the preview for developers, for example the ability to authenticate applications to certain photos of the camera roll or Bluetooth Low Energy Standard (LE) compatible access.

If Google uses the same table as in Android 12, the final version of Android 13 will be available in October.
