We like it! WhatsApp gets very convenient new functionality | Life and knowledge

We already know from services like Facebook or programs like Teams and Slack: reactions that allow you to comment on messages quickly and easily with an emoji. This will soon be possible on WhatsApp. BILD knows the details.

News service WABetaInfo, which specializes in WhatsApp, reports that so-called reactions on WhatsApp are currently being developed and can already be found in earlier versions of Messenger. As is common to other messengers and chat programs, you can mark personal messages with an emoji on WhatsApp.

The advantage of a smiley face in a separate message (as they have been sent so far): WhatsApp collects and counts reactions, displaying a message directly in a small bubble under the talk bubble – great for group chats. Smileys can be clearly assigned to individual texts. On Twitter, WABetaInfo shows in advance what it will look like.

As usual on WhatsApp the reactions are completely encrypted and sent. Users can choose from all the emojis how they want to react. If desired, you can select multiple reactions per text. If you then tap the little smiley bubble, it will show who responded with which emoji.

New speech bubbles

In addition to the reactions, WhatsApp will also introduce a new design for speech bubbles. WABetaInfo shows what chats will look like in the future with slightly rounded borders (iPhone above, Android below – older version on the left, newer version on the right).

Both functions are currently in beta versions of WhatsApp. Smiley reactions should be available in one of the next updates on iPhone and Android. It is not yet clear when the new talk bubble designs will arrive. WhatsApp can use the beta version of its program to test the new look.
