    Tuesday, Just days after entering orbit around the red planet, the National Space Agency announced Sunday. On Wednesday, Emirates boasted of being the first Arab country to make such an achievement, after a day of successful hosting of the so-called “Amal” in Arabic (faith in French) around the orbit of Mars.

    “Emirates Mars photographed Olympus Mons, the largest volcano in the solar system, in the early morning sunlight,” the company said in a statement. The Emir of Dubai and the country’s Prime Minister Mohammed Ben Rachet Al Maktoum tweeted that “the first image of Mars taken by the first Arab inquiry in history”. This study is designed to provide a complete picture of the meteorological dynamics of the planet. But above all, it is a step towards a more ambitious goal: to establish a human colony on Mars within 100 years.

    Unlike the Chinese Tianwen-1 and US Mars 2020 missions, “Hope” will not land on the Red Planet. It is expected to begin disseminating data in September as it uses three scientific instruments to monitor the Martian atmosphere, data accessible to scientists around the world.
