The first major global update of Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available for download. The free update, which focuses primarily on Japan, will make improvements to several major cities in the country and add some new landing challenges.
Patch notes posted Microsoft Flight Simulator Website For Global Update 1, “Japan has upgraded digital elevation mapping across the country to six major Japanese cities (Sendai, Takamatsu, Tokushima, Tokyo, Utsunomia and Yokohama) with high resolution 3D photography and six amazing handcrafted airports, Kechi Nagasaki, Shimojishima, and Suvanosejima). “Custom created milestones and new traditional-style architecture along with interesting points. In addition to all visual changes and improvements, pilots can test their skills at three new landing challenges at Japanese airports.

This is not about Japan. With this update, three new airports have already joined the extensive list of departure and departure destinations, upgrades have been made to 60 airports based on feedback from the community, and more than 700 control towers have been added to US airports.
