Office 365, 2019 and 2021 are available for MacOS version 16.56

As part of Patch Day for December 2021, Microsoft has released Office Update 365, the major update for MacOS for 2019 and 2021 with version number 16.56. Updates are available for Office 2019 for MacOS, Office 2021 for MacOS and Office LTSC 2021 for MacOS, available through a one-time purchase or volume license agreement, as well as a subscription to the Mac for Microsoft 365. Available only with new features for Microsoft 365. So some of the features listed in the Release Notes are only available if you have a Microsoft 365 subscription. With the release of MacOS 12 Monterey, Microsoft only supports macOS 10.15 Catalina and above. When newer versions of MacOS become available, Microsoft will discontinue support for older versions and support both recent and future versions. As of the November 2021 update, updates to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote require macOS 10.15 Catalina or higher. If you continue to use older versions of MacOS, applications will continue to run, but you will not receive any updates, including security updates. Note that newer installations also require macOS 10.15 or higher. Various updates and bug fixes and stability improvements in the update will make Office applications more reliable.

For updates to version 16.56, Mac requires MacOS 10.15 Catalina and later, automatic update or download directly from Microsoft. To use Automatic Update, launch the Office app and click Help -> Check for Updates in the menu above. If you are using Office 365 for MacOS, you will receive an update soon.
