After the free-daviolet player, Alexa can now control your free box revolution, simply by connecting it to a device already equipped with voice assistant.
Revolution Free Box is emerging. Free now allows subscribers to control their TV content with Alexa, its iconic box launched in 2010. The only condition for accessing this new feature is a device that is already compatible with Amazon’s voice assistant.
To connect your Amazon speaker and your player, you need to enable the “Free Box Player” capability from your Alexa app. The latter is available on iOS and Android, and then all you have to do is look for the appropriate capability to install it on all your devices connected to your Amazon account. As a reminder, Alexa Skills allows you to integrate and implement new capabilities for Amazon Voice Assistant.
You can enjoy this functionality even without the Amazon speaker using your smartphone’s microphone via the Alexa application. Connect your player with voice assistant and find yourself on the same WiFi network for both devices. You can use various voice commands to control your free box TV. Note, to use on a smartphone, it is necessary to specify that the action must be done in the free box. Free provides some common examples:
TV on / off | “Alexa, run the free box.”; “Alexa, turn off the free box.” |
Navigation apps and TV channels | Alexa, open Netflix. “ “Alexa meets TF1.” |
Content search | “Alexa, find an action movie.” “Alexa, find a movie with Tom Cruise.” “Alexa, look for the Titanic movie.” “Alexa, find a movie with Bucks Bunny.” |
Content release | “Alexa, play for the future again.” “Alexa, play ten percent on Netflix.” |
TV content control | “Alexa, play.” “Alexa, read again.” “Alexa, pause.” “Alexa, go ahead for 5 minutes.” “Alexa goes 5 minutes ahead.” “Alexa, next chapter.” “Alexa, previous chapter.” |
Sound control | “Alexa, run Volume 30.” “Alexa, turn up the volume.” |
