How do I join Microsoft Insider program to preview Windows?

Microsoft has set up its Insider program to allow as many people as possible to preview the next version of its software, but to tweak and improve its applications. All Windows users can join for free to try out Windows previews.

By joining Microsoft’s Insider program, you have the opportunity to try out new features and versions of Windows before anyone else, and in new applications. However, to join, you must have a Microsoft account (Hotmail, Outlook, etc.) and report bugs and other inconsistencies that you find using Microsoft Software Preview.

Microsoft offers three different channels for distributing pre-releases of Windows and its software:

  • Dev Channel Allows you to test the latest versions of the Windows development cycle. So they may be unstable and subject to many errors. The Dev Channel, as its name implies, is in principle reserved for an informed public.
  • Beta channel. With a very stable and generally fewer bugs, the beta channel preview is very close to the final product that Microsoft will offer to the general public.
  • Preview channel Meanwhile, the next standard version of Windows allows testing before it is officially available and widely used by the general public.
