If the year 2020 is to benefit anyone it should be Google because according to recent statistics the tech giant has another feat that could be achieved in the name of the highest number of downloads in the third quarter. To everyone’s surprise, they even beat Apple this time.

Published report Sensor tower Performances The Google Play Store 2020 had 28.2 billion downloads in the third quarter, more than three times Apple’s 8.2 billion downloads in the same quarter.

Google has had a good year with its App Store, with more people staying indoors and doing chores other than work, so a total of 80.6 billion apps have been downloaded from the Play Store. Apple, on the other hand, has only 26.6 billion downloads.

The platform hosts the largest app portfolio with 2.7 million applications (an increase of 5.85% compared to the previous quarter) Google has been given a lot of credit for the success. Reduced the number of downloads, 13.49 percent of which were made by gaming fans. Education-related downloads accounted for 9.11 percent, followed by business applications with 6.95 percent.

Google Play downloads are up 31% year on year.

Apple picked up its number of downloads in the first three months of 2020, but the figure dropped to 8.2 billion this quarter. This difference makes a lot of sense considering the fact that Apple only hosts 1.82 million apps for users to download.
