Rhythm-action game Thumper making its way to the Nintendo Switch

And here’s another indie game for the Switch eShop! Developer DROOL announced a few minutes ago on its Twitter account that “Thumper”, a rhythm-violence game, will hit Nintendo’s hybrid system on May 18th.

Already available on PS4 and PC since late 2016, this Switch version will feature HD Rumble support, probably to mach gameplay sensations with the rhythm on-screen. It’ll run in handheld mode at 720p/60FPS and TV mode at 1080p/60FPS.

Developer describes Thumper as a classic rhythm-action game, with “blistering speed and brutal physicality”. You’ll play a beetle braving the hellish void in 9 fast-paced levels, to confront a maniacal giant head from the future. And since the game is rhythm based, we’ll enjoy the sweet sound of a soundtrack made by Brian Gibson, from rock band Lightning Bolt.

Scream down the endless track and crash through punishing obstacles with simple, airtight controls. Hurtle forward, master new moves, reach overwhelming velocities, and survive epic boss battles. Every crushing impact is interwoven with a pounding original soundtrack. To reach synesthetic bliss, you must go through rhythm hell.
