Nintendo celebrates Kirby’s 25th anniversary with a trio of 3DS games
Nintendo sends some love from Planet Robobot, and teases the next instalment
Today’s Nintendo Direct was also a big moment for the Kirby fans. To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the cutest pink hero ever, the company announced no less than three new games staring Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight and all the other characters of the series. They will all be on Nintendo 3DS. Yep, nothing announced for the Switch, sorry. Here’s what we know so far on those games:
- Non-titled 3DS Game: Nintendo teased an upcoming multiplayer action game starring Kirby, currently in development. It will be available this winter, so we will have more infos on that game later on. Expect some good old Kirby action like we love it.
- Kirby’s Blowout Blast: Set for a release on the 3DS eShop this summer. This game is based on the “Kirby 3D Rumble” mini-game from Planet Robobot, where you’ll fight through 25+ stages of challenging 3D worlds. Nintendo showed first screens of the game on their announcement tweet.
- Team Kirby Clash Deluxe: Available starting today on Nintendo 3DS eShop, as a free-to-start. This game is an expanded take on the Team Kirby Clash mini-games that fans loved in Planet Robobot. Here are some screenshots, and the official presentation: “In pretty much the best team up ever, Kirby, Kirby, Kirby, and Kirby must unite to do battle in this free-to-start multiplayer action game! Choose from four roles to make your own Kirby crew, take on bosses, level up, and try out new challenges in this clash of power and puffiness“.
