Fire Emblem Echoes: 7 minutes of gameplay & details on amiibo functionality

Nintendo Japan shares more footage on the upcoming tactical RPG

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, the new instalment in the successful tactical RPG franchise, is now releasing in less than a month on 3DS. Time for Nintendo to speed up the pace on the promotion, and here it is with a brand new gameplay trailer. Sit tight, it’s not the short bite video that the company usual shares but a 7-minute long one. Enjoy!

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will launch on Nintendo 3DS on May 19th.

Nintendo also released a video showing the amiibo functionalities in-game. Of course, since it’s in Japanese you might not understand a thing of what they’re saying. So here’s the details:

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will release with two new amiibo figures, sold in a set-bundle ($24.99). Using them ingame will unlock two exclusive dungeons, filled with items and chances to level up your armies. In battle, they will both act as a temporary ally for a single turn, in the shape of a computer-controlled illusory hero. The more you’ll imply them in your strategy, the more they’ll grow strong.

In addition, all Fire Emblem amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series can be used to summon an illusory hero of that character in Shadows of Valentia. Marth, Ike, Roy, Robin, Lucina… and even the upcoming Corrin amiibo! All other non-Fire Emblem amiibo are compatible. They will summon a support monster on the battleground.
