    In the same interview, Spencer responded to critics of the Xbox Game Pass, explaining that it is not a standard business model, i.e. Sony’s Shawn Layton and Jim Ryan, as a subscription service that guarantees a steady return. .

    “Subscriptions ensure you have a good steady income. And this is important for any business, and it will increase the sales peak of some of the retail games that have been released,” Spencer explains.

    “For this reason, our strategy is a combination of many components. One does not exclude the other. Our business is not based on a single number.

    Spencer had already said in an interview with Axios that the Xbox Game Pass was a standard business model, and on that occasion explained that this service was not the only development component of Microsoft’s gaming division.
