It is offered monthly via Windows Update and is also released as a separate tool. The update with version number 5.93 was released on September 14, 2021 and can be downloaded on PCs with Windows 7 SP1, 8.1, 10. This tool will run once after downloading to scan your computer for infections caused by certain malicious software. The tool supports you to eliminate any infection detected. If an infection is detected, a status report will be displayed the next time you start your computer. If you want to run the tool manually, you can download it from the Microsoft Download Center or run the online version. The tool cannot replace an antiviral product. So you need to use an antivirus product to protect your Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 computers.
