Windows 11: Drag and drop folders and shortcuts into the taskbar

Microsoft has its upcoming operating system Windows 11 Fitted with new taskbar. Until now it was not possible to drag folders or shortcuts directly into the taskbar. Microsoft asked for user feedback and reinstalled the feature.

It comes from an animation released by Twitter user NTAuthority. The clip shows the folder on the imported desktop in the open program. All you have to do is drag the system to the corresponding icon in the system tray. A window opens with the application to select where the user directory should go. The video shows how to move a folder to the registry editor using the function.

The feature is included in Windows 10

Anyone using the current Redmond operating system should already be aware of this feature. Microsoft can drag a folder onto a processor listed in an existing taskbar Windows 10 Built-in. This functionality was not initially implemented here because the developers have completely redesigned the taskbar in Windows 11. Some users have criticized this, so Microsoft decided to provide this feature with an upgrade. This is to prevent users from reloading the old Windows Explorer to use the functions again.

It is not clear when this option will be integrated into the final version of Windows 11. At this time, this feature is not yet enabled by default in Insider Build. The option to drag folders to the bar should be enabled via the diversion. According to Desk mode It would be imaginable if Microsoft would soon test the functionality on the Dev channel. You can send this option back to Windows 11 22000.
