Windows 10 comes with KB5006738 but not for everyone

Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 overall update, KB5006738. It is designed for PCs under 21H2 and is used in testing environments.

KP5006738 Insider Program Release Available for PCs registered on the Beavis Channel. It only targets machines running Windows 10 21H2. Its installation allows you to change the OS to version 19044.1319. This number is important. This ensures that the download and installation went smoothly. It can be detected by running “winver.exe” on “Run” (WIN + R).

Microsoft explains

“This update will automatically be available for Windows 10 21H2 PCs registered with the Release Preview Channel. This update is provided for insiders who are not yet running Windows 10 21H2 through our “Seeker” experience in Windows Update, and only for insiders who have switched from beta channel to release preview channel as their PC hardware requirements are not met. For Windows 11. That means these insiders have to go to Settings> Update & Security> Windows Update and choose to download and install Windows 10 21H2.

KB5006738 brings many fixes and improvements. We also have a new feature. This facilitates the transfer of data from one browser to another. Many of the changes are aimed at business. Microsoft also claims to have fixed a major memory leak.

“We fixed the memory leak issue in lsass.exe on the domain controllers in the forest root domain. This occurs when there are multiple forests and multiple domains in each forest.”

This new update release is only available on the preview channel. Redmond is testing before a “public general” deployment.
