“Despite our efforts and proposals, we regret to announce that ParkNow service will be suspended from April 3, following the city’s decision.”

In Clermont-Ferrand, some of the words sent by the mobile app, these days, have fallen into the messaging system of users of this parking payment service via smartphone.

At Clermont-Ferrand it is possible to pay to park with your smartphone

This Sunday, a message that will take effect immediately from April 3, the mobile app will no longer be used to pay for parking in the Auvergne capital, where ParkNow has established itself since December 2017.

    New agreement with the city

What are the reasons for this sudden deviation? “The contract of the ParkNow operator has been terminated and the city of Clermont-Ferrand retains a new service provider, PrestoPark, within the framework of a traditional tender procedure”, justifies Clermont Municipality.

The city highlights PrestoPark’s excellent performance, which will allow other mobility operators to use this application to provide their services in the future.

Will parking at Clermont-Ferrand become more and more difficult?

This new application should be taken from the beginning without interruption of service. Its download and use are free, and the city ensures that this change “does not affect parking prices or the region”.

If this change is implemented this weekend, the city will also launch an information campaign informing users.
