WhatsApp will end support for multiple cell phones starting November 1st

Without support, WhatsApp will no longer work at some point

Ambassador Service Share Will only work with newer operating systems from November 1st. For some older devices, this means: No more updates, bug fixes or functional upgrades. We reveal which smartphone models it affects.

Only some operating systems are still supported

In the future, smartphones must have at least Android 4.1, iOS 10 and KIOS 2.5.1 software. If your mobile phone has an old operating system, you will need an update to continue using WhatsApp. However, if your smartphone is unable to do this, you will need to get a new device or replace Messenger.

These models are vulnerable

According to the American magazine “Entrepreneurs” the support will end on November 1 with the following models, among others:

  • From iPhone SE and iPhone 6S Plus Apple
  • From Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core and Galaxy Ace 2 Samsung
  • Xperia Miro from Sony, Sony Xperia Neo L and Xperia Arch S
  • Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II Dual and Optimus L5 from LG
  • Ascend G740, Ascend D Quad XL, Ascend D1 Quad XL and Ascend D2 von Huawei
  • A Touch Evo7 from Alcatel
