What’s new in version 22499
Share apps that are open from the taskbar when groups call
In last week’s update, we introduced the ability to quickly disable and activate the microphone in our group calls from the taskbar. Today they announced an extension of that experience, allowing you to quickly share content from open application windows directly from the taskbar to our group calls. This experience, which starts with Microsoft teams, eliminates the need to switch between applications in order to share or reshare a window. There is no interruption for the participants to see the meeting or the screen – share the window that is open during the call.
When in a meeting with Microsoft teams, hover over the apps running in the taskbar and you will see a new button that allows you to share the window with the participants in the meeting. When we’re done sharing content, hover over the window again and click Stop Sharing or select another window and click Share this window. If we present a full screen presentation in PowerPoint, the taskbar will appear if we move the mouse down so that participants can share or share the presentation without interruption.
They begin to apply this experience to the Microsoft Teams for Work or Subcommittee of Insiders established by the school and expand it over time. This means that not everyone will see it immediately. In addition, Microsoft plans to bring it to the chat later in the day. Also any application can be integrated with this new functionality.
