    “Pierre Gonalons is a young designer from Lyon specializing in furniture and interior design. He defends a design that mixes decorative arts, popular culture and minimalism,” explains Renault. It’s the contrast between a refined body, here painted with gold pigments on a pink base, and the aesthetic details the designer wanted to highlight, deliberately taken out of their context.

    The designer invited various French craftsmen to decorate the interior of the R5. Stonemasons for this impressive steering wheel made of marble and carbon, weavers for mohair rugs and trims, or even a gilder who made all the ornaments from brass.

    This show car is a nod to the past but focused on the future. For example, there are many technologies such as door-mounted fingerprint readers, digital circular counters and smartphone-centric infotainment systems. 100% electric, not forgetting the motor.

    The show car recalls the past but focuses on the future with circular digital counters and a smartphone as a multimedia system.

    Renault has decided to enter the world of NFTs, and as part of this project the diamond brand and Pierre Gonalons will create a collection of NFTs inspired by the Renault 5 Diamond, which will be released in September. As for this Renault 5 Diamant, it will be auctioned after a few weeks. The profits will be donated to the association “Give Me 5” dedicated to the young generation through sports and music.
