Abderrahmane Kedar, a CNRS researcher and collaborative robotics expert, sees the American company’s “one achievement” as a “technological breakthrough” in the world of robots. “In France, we have software-level knowledge, but the dynamics of Boston Dynamics robots are incredible,” says Oliver Stas, a CNRS researcher who specializes in humanoid robots.

As for the practical use of robots from Boston Dynamics or other manufacturers: “In the future, humanoid robots will be dedicated to production work or to assisting people,” Abderrahmane Kedar promises. “Imagine, 3 or 4 people have cowed in the waiting room. You no longer have to send a nurse there to press a button. You put him in unnecessary danger.”
