Tinder and other dating apps will prioritize vaccinated users

When information about a new strain of the COVID-19 coronavirus appeared at the end of 2019, few could have guessed what consequences this would lead to. Furthermore, we could not even imagine that this would be a problem for more than a month let alone a year. Perhaps it’s something humanity will have to live with forever, with all the restrictions, new social distancing requirements and mandatory vaccinations.

But what no one expected was that the coronavirus would have such a profound effect on opportunities to meet new people. Even now, when scientists have invented several effective vaccines, the situation has not improved much. In a sense, it has only become more complicated. Recently, people who for some reason have not been vaccinated have been faced with new restrictions. And surprisingly they are associated with dating services.

Want to get the most out of your dating platforms? Get vaccinated!

This is not a joke. Back in early 2021, there were rumors in the US that popular online dating platforms would reward users who got vaccinated. One of the first to write about this on May 22 was the official portal of the Axios news service. And this turned out to be not just another rumor.

Very soon it was reported that Tinder, OkCupid, Bumble, Badoo, BLK, Hinge, Chispa, Match, Plenty of Fish and other popular dating platforms would be introducing a reward system for vaccinated users.

Soon, a similar initiative appeared in the UK, and it happened at the state level too — the government of the country is officially cooperating with dating apps to increase the percentage of vaccinated people among the population. On one hand, this is the right move — research firm YouGov reports that according to surveys, about 59% of British young people prefer to meet and go on dates with vaccinated people. And representatives of OkCupid report that vaccinated users attracted by 14% more matches. But on the other hand, such innovations create additional inconveniences for those who at the moment can’t be vaccinated, for example, for health reasons.

Important! So far, dating sites do not restrict opportunities for unvaccinated users, just give extra benefits to vaccinated ones. But it is quite possible that the implementation of restrictions is only a short while away.

What benefits are we talking about?

To answer that question, everything depends on the site you choose. For example, on Tinder, users who have been vaccinated can add the “Vaccinated” or “Vaccines Save Lives” sticker. The site will reward them with a “Superlike” for this.

OkCupid also offers users the chance to add an “I’m Vaccinated” badge and earn a free promotion to get more attention from potential acquaintances. Also here you can search for a match among other vaccinated users.

Bumble and Badoo give users post-vaccine access to Spotlight and “super swipe” features.

Many other dating sites and apps give vaccinated members access to some premium features, thereby encouraging others to not delay vaccination.

Why do dating services take such measures at all?

Let’s put aside the fact that in many cases we are referring to government initiatives. Why are dating apps and websites among the first services to implement something like this? The fact is that the use of these services is geared towards a future real meeting. People get to know each other here not just to communicate by correspondence or by video link. Most people dream of meeting their soulmate and building strong offline relationships. Tinder and similar platforms make dating “chaotic” and out of control. This means that they may well contribute to the spread of coronavirus. It is not surprising that it is in this sector that the motivation to vaccinate looks especially vital.

And here a logical question arises: “How should we handle those who do not want to or can’t get vaccinated?” As mentioned above, dating services have not yet introduced clear restrictions. But these might appear at any time. So it’s worth thinking about what alternatives you can use right now. And, fortunately, there are many!

Random chat sites: dating and communication without restrictions

Random video chat is a type of platform that connects random users via webcam and allows you to communicate on a variety of topics. There are even random adult video chats with very explicit content. Generally, in video chats with strangers you do not need to register, enter any personal data, upload photos, or anything like that. This firstly just saves a lot of time. And secondly, it does not allow sites and applications to monitor whether participants are vaccinated.

The advantages of stranger video chat over classic dating platforms are obvious:

    • complete anonymity and confidentiality
    • free or low-cost access to all features
    • the opportunity to meet dozens of new people in just a few hours
    • less rigid rules of use
    • convenient functionality and ease of learning

Most importantly, video chats do not currently plan to introduce any bonuses for vaccinated users or restrictions for those who have not been vaccinated. Using chatrandom is just as convenient as it was before the pandemic and all taboos. Moreover, the number of active users here has only increased due to all restrictions and quarantines. This means that you will definitely not have a shortage of chat partners.

Random video chat without need for vaccination

We don’t want to convince anyone to get vaccinated right now, but even more so we don’t want to say that getting vaccinated is not worth it. This is solely your decision. At least for now. The purpose of this article is to offer you an alternative to dating sites and apps that may well implement restrictions for unvaccinated users in the near future. For example, to limit important functions for them.

Random chat sites in this regard give a lot more freedom now. And if the limitations of dating platforms are really implemented, then video chats with strangers may become the only free alternative that everyone, without exception, can use.

Take care of your health, meet interesting people, and develop strong relationships. Don’t let the coronavirus and related restrictions stop you from living your life to the full.
