These are MediaTek’s new high-end SoCs for 5G smartphones

No time now?

In the second quarter of 2021, the Dimension 1100 and 1200 will be the first smartphones to use the new MediaTek processors. Their performance should be at the primary level.

Along with the Tymancity 1100 and 1200, MediaTek brings two SoCs (system-on-a-chip) designed for premium smartphones with six nanometer functionality and 5G connectivity. The large-dimensional 1200 differs slightly from the smaller 1100 in terms of performance, mainly by two factors that affect multiple performance areas.

Dimension 1200 watches faster, do more

The Dimension 1200 ARM calls the Cortex-A78 a combination of four humans, one of which is the Ultra Core. This single core can achieve performance up to 3 GHz and the L2 cache doubles. The MediaTek ARM Mali-G77 MC9 graphics unit is built on 1200 feet. This is at least recommended by adding a GPU-free boost similar to that of the 1100.

In fact, the Dimension 1200 can control screens with FHD plus resolution of up to 168 Hz, Little brother Only up to 144 Hz. If it goes beyond full HD, both dimensional chips are only capable of 90 Hz.

There is little difference in the image processor. It can control cameras up to 1200 200 megapixels, while the smaller 1100 only supports 108 megapixels. Similarly, only 1200 can record 4K videos in the higher dynamic range.

Dimensions 1100 and 1200 are otherwise identical

1200 and 1100 do not differ in any other respect. In terms of performance, they should be below the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, but within the range of what is required for current premium smartphones. Due to the high clock rates, the DionCity 1200 should be slightly more powerful than the DionCity 1100 at all points.

The new Dimensity chips each come with four ARM Cortex-A78 and four Arm Cortex-A55. The older version is used as the Mali-G77 graphics division. For main memory, MediaTek still relies on the LPDTR4X with 2,133 MHz. Unlike the competition, MediaTek does not use Cortex-X1.

5G is integrated directly into the SoC of the two chips, which should ensure high data performance. Bluetooth version 5.2 and WiFi 6 are on board. Dual 5G chips are allowed in dual SIM smartphones.

The first smartphones with new chips, for example from Xiaomi, Oppo, RealMe and Vivo, should be in stores by the end of March or early April.
