It may have been three years before the rumor Nintendo Switch The Pro makes an appearance, but it may have a major visual upgrade when it does.
That’s according to Taiwan Economic Daily News, Which claims to have a mini-LED display provided by Innolex called Switch Pro. However, Doug Bowser, head of Nintendo in the United States, pointed out that there was no urgency in changing Switzerland’s winning formula.
But when it comes to the Nintendo Switch Pro, it will play mini-LED rather than an LCD display.
Mini-LED displays use thousands of tiny backlights on the glass panel substrate of the display panel, effectively replacing the clusters of backlights used on LCD screens. Doing this creates deeper blacks, wider contrast ratio and improved control over brightness. You might think of mini-LEDs as a very affordable alternative to OLED panels. We expect mini-LED displays to appear on Apple MacBooks and iPods next year.
Although the display of the switch is very bright and colorful for an LCD, it is still only 720p resolution, and its panel technology keeps it a little smaller. Moving to the mini-LED will allow Nintendo to make its console more compelling when opened. The upgraded Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to support 4K resolution in chopped mode.
Speaking of 4K, a Switch Pro is expected to come with an improved chipset and overall performance compatible with 4K TVs, which are now in high demand. Currently Nvidia offers Switch’s chipset, but there is no word on creating a new mobile quality chip at Graphics.
The Nintendo Switch Pro is several years away
All of this indicates that the next Nintendo Switch is a while away. This gave Bowser more credibility in an interview Polygon He said the Japanese gaming company has always been thinking about upgrading its hardware, but it is not set to deviate for a while from the current switch formula.
“We always look at technology,” Bowser explained. “As far as we know, technology is constantly evolving and we’ll always see: how can it improve and enhance the gaming experience? Whether it’s the current platform, or the future platform, we’ll always look at it.”
The somewhat vague answer to whether the switch hardware will be updated long ago is that, along with Bowser, “the speed of the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Light Strong in the fourth year. ”
“We hope to change the course of another regular console life cycle,” Bowser added, adding that with the switch, Nintendo is “in the middle of this life cycle”.
Since Switch was launched in 2017, our hard calculations suggest that the switch will have another three years of life before Nintendo moves on to create a newer version in the form of Switch Pro or Nintendo Switch 2.
