The next update is coming soon – 21H1 is in the initial modules. Since the preview is already available, no massive feature expansion can be expected.

The update is currently listed as “optional”. There is no rush to install.

The Windows 10 May update 2021 is set to be released. Microsoft Reports On their own blog. The built-in update to run under version 19043.928 can now be downloaded as an ISO file. Basically, according to the developer team, the latest update should be about “further improvement of the overall experience with regular maintenance frequency”.

The link KB5001391 should contain the final version of the update, which will definitely be released in May. In addition, more minor updates should be available to compensate for smaller, already known “bumps”. The new update is already available on the Release Preview channel.

As you already know, the May 2021 update will not be a major feature update. In addition to multi-camera support and an extension of Windows Hello’s unlock feature, the patch also includes kiosk mode for the new Edge browser and generally enhanced application performance and roaming settings. Meanwhile, users of the enterprise version are still benefiting from the new features in the Windows Defender application guard and admin tool.

If you want, you can use Startup / Settings / Update and Security / Windows Update Search for updates manually and download and install the currently available “optional” update.

But there is no need to rush to install the update. Experience shows that it is worth waiting a few more days or weeks at a time.
