For many, what is part of the appeal of video games is that they give us a strong form of escape, and this may be brief Dreamo, A game set within a man’s dream of coming to Nintendo Switch later this month.

Soldiers awake on an island after a plane crash are under the control of Jack Winslow, guided by the voice of inventor / therapist Tara Morey. Jack travels through the direct journey of his mind, searching for pieces of his lost memories that are locked into cubes called “artifacts”. Each artifact misplaced the gears, which the player must solve and understand.

The game features dozens of challenging 3D puzzles, a fully voiced story and a three-chapter plot that, according to publisher Pineapple Works, “explores the themes of memory, choice and effect.” There is also a challenge mode for “players who want to test their skills”.

With its first-person perspective, focus on puzzles, and a story driven by mystery and uncertainty, it looks similar to games like Dreamo Portal and The Witness. Developer hypnotic ants refer to Talos Theory, Baba Is You, and Fez as influences.

Pre-orders are now open for the Dream (priced at $ 14.99 / 14.99, but currently on sale for $ 13.49 / € 13.49), it will be released Nintendo iShop Thursday, November 19 in North America and Europe.
