Steam Cloud - How to Download Your Game from Free Internet News

Steam Cloud – How to Download Your Game from Free Internet News

Steam syncs multiple stored files with its servers. When you install a game they are automatically downloaded by Steam, but that is not the only way to get them. You can also download them directly from Wolwin’s website in your browser.

Enable Steam Cloud Sync on Steam

If Steam does not automatically download your old storage after installing a game, make sure Steam Cloud is enabled for that game on Steam.

To do this, find the game in your Steam library, right-click on it and select “Properties”. Click the ‘General’ tab and make sure the ‘Store game for play in the Steam cloud’ option is checked in the game. If this option is not selected, Steam will not automatically download or upload your storage to the cloud.

Make sure the ‘General’ tab is selected and click on ‘Keep Game Saves in Steam Cloud’.

If you do not find the Steam Cloud option for a game then that game is not compatible with Steam Cloud. This does not apply to all games on Steam – it depends on each game developer.

Download the files in your web browser

Valve allows you to download your saved files from the cloud Steam Through the web browser. You can only download your saved files without having to re-download the entire game.

To find your saved files, go to the Valve Visual Steam Cloud page in your web browser and sign in to your Steam account.

You will see a list of games that use your Steam Cloud storage. Find the game in the list and click “Show Files” to see all the files for the game.

Each game has a page showing all the files stored in the Steam Cloud with their modified date. To download the file, click “Download”. Download all the semic files of your game and you will have a copy of its storage.

Click “Download” next to each backup file you want.

This feature is especially useful for cross-platform games that do not automatically sync files stored between platforms.

For example, Borderlands 2 is available on both PC and Mac. It syncs its storage files with Steam Cloud, but the PC and Mac versions store the files separately. You can download Mac (or PC) versions from the Steam website and manually import them into the appropriate folder to move your Borderlands 2 storage between platforms.

If you do not use the Internet, you should download Borderlands 2 on one site, extract your savings, and then download the game on another site!

This is a problem known to other games – for example, it seems to be required when moving save games from Torchlight for Windows to Torchlight for Linux.
