Jim Ryan, President of Sony Interactive Entertainment, last week Ensured that the most exclusive first-rate offers on computers would be obtained. In the last two days Sony has confirmed that it will restructure its Japanese studioMany developers are leaving, while others are joining other teams.

Didn’t Sony notice that Japan needed to send studio games to PC urgently?

When I think of Sony’s popular games, I’m not thinking about Horizon: Zero Dawn (which was released on PC last year) or Days Con (which will be released this spring). These are third party action adventures because I can play them on the computer. It’s not even the best games of the genre I can think of, be it Gods of War, Lost of S or Bloodburns.

No, I’m thinking about Logo Rocco and Patton’s chatter. Think of a Pomeranian survival game in the Tokyo Jungle and DualShock app escape. I’m definitely thinking of majestic (somewhat exaggerated) classics like Igo, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Abstained Bird.

Many of these games were developed in partnership with other teams, locally, such as Team Ico, or with outside companies such as the Pyramid at Badaban. Many of the developers responsible for these games have already left Sony Japan Studios, much like the Gravity Group. The name Japan Studio can no longer mean much – probably never.

But games mean a lot. They are weird, ambitious, and often fun video games. Many of these are not, and some of them are integrated and now appear on the system. Indy operating system Bikini for example, Sounds inspired by some Japanese studio games. In my opinion, this makes Japan Studio more widely available and makes the computer a better home.

Transforming it into a computer does not seem like a distant dream. Many of these games – Colossus, Bataphone, Barappa the Rapper, and Logo Rogo – have already received remasters in recent years, some of which came with exclusive BSP games before the PlayStation 4. I already have a plan to do what I propose to do.

But if we come at the end of 2021 and Sony announces that the game is coming after Days Khan, it’s a sad dad reboot or dog killing: a warning story, which will feel like a missed opportunity.

DL; DR: Knock released your cowards on the computer.
