Signal Messenger has received an update that brings various new functions.
With the update, users get some bug fixes and many new options and functions. For example, you can now select a background for personal conversations. Or set a default background for all conversations.

According to Changelog, the update also supports animated stickers and features the first official collection of “Day by Day” animated stickers written by Miguel Angel Campbrook. Over External sources You can already use animated stickers. Additionally, users can now create their own APNG sticker collections on Signal Desktop and share them in multiple conversations.
Other changes, according to Changelog, include:
- Tell your friends what’s going on or share a new “about” about you on your signal profile.
- If you care about a person, tap their profile picture to see them in full screen.
- New system to reduce data consumption when making calls.
- Automatically suspend downloads during calls. You can pause and restart at any time – so the wait is not painful.
- We have improved image compression and quality so that larger memories than life are always the right size.
- Dialog list preview now displays sender name in group conversations. This makes it easier for you to decide which conversations to watch first.
- Signal dialogs can now be shown as suggestions when shared by other applications. You can enable or disable this system at any time.
Personally, I don’t have CarPlay support yet. For example, using WhatsApp is very convenient or possible in the vehicle.
