The U9 line between Walter-Schreiber-Platz and Staklitz Town Hall will be interrupted until next Sunday following a fire at the Schlostras subway station.

PVG spokesman Jane Swend announced on Sunday. This is a “cautionary assessment”, it could start all over again – but it could take longer, he said.

On Saturday it was initially said that the route could be used again on Monday, but Swendu says it is very promising.

The damage is greater than the fear. Signal cables were burned in a fire that broke out Saturday afternoon in an operating room at a subway station.

For example, they are responsible for sending dial tones to trains and establishing safe rotation in the mines. The damaged technology now needs to be replaced and, above all, fully verified, Swendu said. On the other hand, there was no damage to the structure of the listed railway station.

In Saturday’s fire, 110 firefighters were on duty and no one was injured. The station was quickly evacuated by PVG staff. The fire was quickly extinguished. The reason is not yet clear.

Alternative traffic will not be set up as four bus routes will operate on the route between Walter-Schreiber-Platz and Radhas Steklitz.
