Little by little, Samsung is bringing to life its rugged smartphones. Via press release, The South Korean manufacturer unveiled its Galaxy Excover 5 in France on March 31st. This helps mobile professionals and is not a very exciting technical paper.

Small but strong

Surprisingly, the Galaxy XCover 5 offers approximate curves. Mobile is IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certified. So it can withstand sinking for 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 m, but decreases from a height of 1.5 m “A flat metal surface”. It can withstand extreme temperature variations of 2021 (147.1 x 71.6 x 9.2 mm) and controlled weight (172 g). It weighs fifty grams compared to the previous model X Cover Pro Launched in January 2020.

Still, there is not much exciting product sheet on this smartphone. So, its 5.3 inch IPS screen shows 720 x 1480 px for 311 ppi resolution. Its processor is an entry level Exynos 850, which supports 4GB of RAM and runs on Android 11 and One UI 2.0 interface. On the photo page, there are no frills with a simple dorsal module (16 megapixels, f / 1.8). On the front, it has a 5MPX sensor that acts as a selfie tool. The battery rises to 3000 mAh, while the mobile is only compatible with 15 W charge, while some current models can reach 66 W. Finally, the 64GB of memory is expandable thanks to the microSD port.
