Outlook Express vs. Windows (Live) Mail
The OE Classic user interface is available in German or English. The same is true of Windows XP: if the system is in German, so is Outlook Express. The icons on the OE Classic top icon bar look modern – at least more modern than the menu bar above, which reveals the classic charm. If you start with Windows XP OE, you already have the mail: “Microsoft Outlook Express Team” sends you a message entitled “Welcome”. Clicking on it reveals nostalgia. In addition to the further email text below, you can read a column on the right:
“Tired of sharing your email account with others? Get a Free Hotmail Account! Then you can read your email from anywhere in the world. Click here to register now! “
It looks just like the OE Classic: the app delivers a ready-made email that welcomes you. “Welcome to OE Classic! This project is designed to meet all your email and news team news needs (…)”. This text is identical to the German language OE Classic user interface. Translated means “Welcome to OE Classic! This project was created with the aim of meeting all your email and news team news needs”.

“Features and functionality removed in Windows 10”.
There you will find the line “Outlook Express”. The provider describes the program as a legacy application (meaning “obsolete”) and claims to have removed the customer through Windows 10 1709 (Fall Creators Update). Accordingly, some versions of Windows 10 apparently contained the remaining Outlook Express code (resulting in 1709 predecessors, i.e. 1507, 1511, 1607 and 1703). An end to the OE Classic project
OE is fun for Classic Outlook Express lovers, but in terms of functionality and functionality it is a weak competitor to Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird. The latter program is characterized by several ready-made add-ons; The OE Classic cannot continue here. In terms of handling, a click on the “new email” indicates that you have not yet added an account – but it does not help to set up an account. You can do this by going to “Tools> Accounts> Add> Next”. There are IMAP and POP protocols. In testing under Windows 10, sending emails did not work at first, but later worked with the @ web.de freemail address. Receipt of emails was not immediately successful, but later it was successful. The design options for the new emails are a plus, the insertable smileys offer even more to the eye. In terms of footage, the signature has one drawback: for example, OE Classic adds an ad on its behalf to emails sent below (“New Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail Replacement – Get Here: https: //www.oeclassic .com /”). Users of some Internet freemail services also struggle with this problem.
