“Assassin’s Creed” was disappointed in the cinema, and the current idea for “Assassin’s Creed 2” with Michael Passpender was rejected. Instead, Netflix wants to make a new attempt – with a live-action series!
The plan was really clear. “Assassin’s Creed” is a startup and a popular video game series in cinema. With “Assassin’s Creed 2” set to take place during the Cold War, ownership will actually be taken away. But they are only plans again.
At box office, it grossed about $ 1,241 million (on a budget of $ 125 million), far below the expectations of Hollywood studio Fox and game maker Ubisoft. There were also some issues with implementation.

Fox Hollywood Studios is no more. It was acquired by Disney, where they have no interest in pursuing a rights that started badly – and Ubisoft now collaborates with Netflix, a streaming service that currently displays this image.
A series on the track “The Witcher”
Announced in the fall of 2020 Netflix “Assassin’s Creed” with a teaser for a live action series, After previous plans to transfer ownership to the streaming service. At the time it was about an anime adaptation of the “Castlevania” style, which was again rejected.
With the success of “The Witcher” behind it, Netflix is now relying on bigger video game adaptations – mostly with actors on rich sets. But not much is known about the new series yet. We know that Ubisoft’s Jason Aldman and Daniel Grenick are responsible for the implementation of the product, and now they are looking for creative staff.

But one thing must be certain: Michael Passpender will no longer return as a leading actor. This series has nothing to do with the film, but is a completely new adaptation. Netflix is currently in the stars when it comes down to it.
