The final version of Android 12 is official, with all the new features that Google has been announcing for months.
After a long beta period, Google has released the final and stable version of Android 12. Still, owners of any supported devices will not be able to download and install the latest version of Android for a few weeks.
This is one of the biggest updates in the history of Android as it introduces a complete overhaul of the interface with Material U lines. However, many aesthetic changes will initially be exclusive to pixel devices, at least until the advent of Android 12.1.
For now, however, the Android code is only released on 12 AOSP, and the update for Pixel devices will be available shortly.
Android 12 compatible phones and how to download update
In total, 10 smartphones are initially compatible with Android 12. As expected, only models of the Google Pixel family will be able to update to the latest version of Android at first, but the update is not currently available. They are as follows:
- Pixel 3
- Pixel 3XL
- Pixel 3a
- Pixel 3a XL
- Pixel 4
- Pixel 4 XL
- Pixel 4 a
- Pixel 4a 5G
- Pixel 5 a
In addition, more models from other manufacturers will be added in days, which will receive an update soon. In this sense, there are already more than 200 devices that have been confirmed for the Android 12 update.
However, the update has been partially released. That is, Android code 12 is on AOSP, but pixel phones will not receive an update for a few weeks.
Once available, the update will reach devices via OTA, and users will need to do nothing more than accept the installation when a related notification appears.

A feature called “Privacy Indicators” is a feature that allows you to quickly determine if an application is using a mobile phone’s camera or microphone.
Additionally, Location Permission has been improved so that users can now choose whether to share their exact location or approximate location.
All of this requires the addition of a new privacy “package” called Private Compute Core, which allows for functions such as direct subtitles or pixel “sounds” thanks to processing. Offline It does not require sending data to Google servers.
These are some of the most important new features in Android 12, but they are not the only ones.
