New 'Deep Nostalgia' artificial intelligence technology revives old photos, including very old ones

New ‘Deep Nostalgia’ artificial intelligence technology revives old photos, including very old ones

Deep nostalgia, an AI-based service that empowers key selfies on Twitter, has turned into a cold Sunday, as people seem to be trying to create a possible and scary fake “video”.

Deep nostalgia service, offered by the online inheritance company My heritage, Uses D-ID licensed AI to create a still image transfer effect. It’s a bit like that Function iOS Live Photos, Which adds seconds of video to help smartphone photographers find the best scene.

But Deep Nostalgia can take photos from any camera and “animate” them. The program uses pre-recorded pilot videos for facial expressions and video that works best for the image in question. The idea is to allow you to upload photos of your loved ones who have died and see them “in motion”, which seems like a good idea.

Users need to create a free account on MyHeritage and then upload a photo. From there, the process is automated. The website animates the image and enhances it before creating a gif. Frequently Asked Questions on the Site Indicates that it does not provide images to any third party, and a message appears on its homepage stating “Images uploaded without completing registration will be automatically deleted to protect your privacy”.

As users try to push AI to its limits, it is understandable that this project has become a memoir on Twitter. An archaeologist used photographs of ancient statues, and yes, some of them were added with the naked eye. Sorry in advance for the dream fuel (but hello Alexander the Great):

Deep nostalgia can only handle single-headed shots and only move faces, so you can’t resurrect mummies to make them look like they happen to be (I was surprised, right?). You can upload up to five photos for free at My Heritage for Deep Nostalgia treatment, after which you will need to sign up for a premium account.

Do you think it is better to leave some images without animation? I warn you about uploading photos on any site and I hope the regular privacy alerts still apply. But if you want to try this, Deep Nostalgia prepares you for a dream experience. Artificial intelligence is very good.
