Never Corp, South Korea’s best internet portal operator, said on Monday that its live streaming site V Live had surpassed 100 million downloads worldwide.

Launched in August 2015, V Live allows K-Pop celebrities to stream live videos on the Internet and chat live with fans around the world.

The service has 85% of overseas visitors, and is available online, on Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS platforms. According to Never, the number of live performances by K-pop stars on stage has increased by 1.4 percent year-on-year, and the number of fan meetings has more than doubled.

The number of paid member users has increased 1.9 times this year compared to a year ago.

Combined with sophisticated technology such as streaming 4K content on mobile platforms, the novel star performance was attributed to the corona virus infection.

Never has partnered with local talent companies to provide unique content such as K-pop dance teaching and live streaming exclusive events. (Yonhop)
