MonitorControl 4 approaches the control center and updates automatically

Monitoring control If you want to change the brightness of the screens associated with your Mac (free) is a great app. Apple-designed displays can be adjusted directly from the keyboard or touch bar, but you may have noticed that the supply of Apple-designed exterior displays has been very limited for some years. Alternatively, this app allows you to use controls built into MacOS and Mac to control the brightness of many third-party displays.

The last major update of the app is a few days away, and it introduces several new features, including two key features. First view: The menu associated with the menu bar icon takes on the appearance of the Magos Pixar control center. For each screen, there is a large white rule for brightness and, depending on the case, volume and contrast.

The other innovation is the integration of the update mechanism. MonitorControl can now check if there is a newer version and download and install it for you. Until then, you just need to follow the project on GitHub and download each update manually, it is bound. Everything is now in use either through the button in the menu or by enabling automatic updates in the options.

List of innovations Even longer. Apps are now able to properly manage Apple external screens, which I was able to confirm with the old cinema display I use on my hackintosh and it is fully supported. A new practical option allows you to connect the Apple screen to the external screen and adjust the brightness of the latter first. This is a good idea for a handheld Mac with automatic adjustment by light sensor, but in my case I failed to implement it.

MonitorControl is not only a free application, but And by open source. Its interface is fully translated into French and requires at least macOS 10.15, although some functions are only available under MacOS Big Sur.
