Microsoft has released the update Roll KP 5004954 for Windows 8.1, RT8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 overnight. The update includes security updates and enhancements and fixes that were part of KB5003671 dated June 8, 2021 for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. With this out-band update, CVE-2021-34527 resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows Print Spoiler service. After installing this and subsequent updates, non-admin users can only install signed printer drivers on the print server. Microsoft recommends installing this update on all supported Windows clients and servers, starting with devices that currently play the role of print server. The update can be downloaded from the Windows Update, Microsoft Update and Windows Server Update Services and Microsoft Update list.
